About Compassionate Carbon

Compassionate Carbon (CC) was launched in August 2021 to develop landscape-size ARR and REDD+ interventions catalyzing ongoing conservation and restoration. CC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eden Reforestation Projects. The CC team has extensive experience developing REDD+ and ARR interventions worldwide, with direct experience working in Kenya, Peru, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, DRC, The Philippines, Brazil, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Leadership

Bryan Adkins, CEO

Bryan is an accomplished natural resource executive with extensive experience in nature-based solutions, ecosystem services, and carbon markets. He has held numerous leadership positions at the U.N. Environment Program, Mullion Group, Alberta Wildlife & Parks Department, and Wildlife Works Carbon. He has also worked as a consultant to many organizations, including FAO, USAID, NIRAS, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. He has served as a technical advisor to the Government of Kenya, the Government of Canada, and the Government of South Sudan. He holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and a M.S. in Resource & Environmental Management from Dalhousie University.

Glen Prior, COO

For the past 25 years, Glen has focused on building economic engines and sustainable systems for mission-driven organizations on a local and global scale. He trains leaders and board members on financial management, process development, and systems thinking, especially within mission-based organizations. Starting with the premise that connecting people and ideas with proven methodologies build a strategic foundation for long-term sustainable growth, Glen excels at establishing collaborative relationships across multiple disciplines. He studied Classics at UC Irvine, Not for Profit Leadership at UC Riverside, and holds an MDiv from Azusa Pacific University.

Board Member

Treasurer - Geof Barker, Entrepreneur & Investor - Geof serves on the boards of Smartsheet, ZipWhip, SpecialX, Light & Motion, Vimly Inc., and Tell Friends, Inc. Previously, he was the COO and Co-founder of RPX Corporation, a leading provider of patent risk management solutions. He Co-founded both The Cobalt Group and Vigilos Inc. Geof began his career in the financial services industry as a trader and investment banker. He holds a BA in Economics from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia University.
